Hogar Wurmbrand Orphanage in Peru

Profiles of the Children:

I am Eduardo Cruz Campo. I am the youngest of all at the orphanage and am five years old. My birthday is October 24. I like to draw and paint with many colors. My favorite color is red and my favorite meal is spagetti, because it is red. I want to get a batman toy for Christmas. My favorite Bible text is, "Jehovah is my pastor and nothing will lack in me". My prayer is that God will always take care of all of us and that we will always have food.

Update:

Currently, the orphanage is in transition. Their current home is being sold and it is difficult to find a new home that is large enough to accomodate all the children. Please continue to keep them in your prayers as they search for a new home.

If you are interested in finding out how you can make a difference in the lives of the orphans in Peru, please contact us. By making a monthly donation to the orphanage, you can help us make sure that these and other children are able to be properly cared for at the orphanage. If you are interested in visiting the orphanage in Peru, please contact us for information.

Orphanage Profile of the Month - Jan 2007

Orphanage Profile of the Month - January 2007

Alex Navarro Idelfonso

I am the oldest one. My name is Alex Navarro Idelfonso. I am 12 years old. My birthday is soon, on January 12th. I am in fourth grade and although I am delayed in my studies, I study very much in order to go forward in my life and learn and also to make the Pastor Jose proud of me. I always wanted to have a family and Pastor Jose and his family are my family. Thanks to God and the brothers of USA, I have a home, a family and a lot of little brothers. Now I am very happy. My favorite Bible text is John 3:16. In the future, I would like to be a soldier of God and of the Peruvian army.

New Dates for Big Tree Trip to Peru Orphanage

We have changed the dates that we are planning to visit the orphanage in Peru! Previously, we were planning to visit at the end of January, 2007. However, due to several conflicts that involved both the orphanage and people here, we have decided it would be best to reschedule. We apologize if this causes anyone any inconvenience.

The new dates will be sometime this coming summer - late June or early July, 2007. We will announce those dates as soon as possible. Hopefully, this will allow more people to travel with us to visit the Peru orphanage that Eternal Tree and some of the Big Tree employees support.

Be sure to check for upcoming emails and watch the blog for updates!

Feel free to email me with questions.

Trip to the Peru Orphanage

TRIP PLANNED TO VISIT THE ORPHANAGE IN PERU - JANUARY 24-31, 2007

Announcing the 3T trip to visit the orphanage in Peru that Eternal Tree is supporting!!!!

Here is the itinerary and information about the trip:

The trip will take place January 24-31, 2007. Steffanie Bolle, the 3T travel agent, will be happy to handle your booking directly. Please contact her if you are interested in going on the trip ( steff@uniglobetravel.com ), and please let me know if you are interested as well ( cdetwiler@eternal_tree.org ).

The cost for airfare will be $799 - The flights are with Continental, through Houston, to Lima.

The cost of the hotel is $150 per night for a double occupancy room, with breakfast included, at the Los Delfines hotel and casino in Lima. There are museums, shopping, and golf nearby. You can see this hotel online at www.summithotels.com It is a 5 star hotel with restaurants and a beach at the hotel, as well as a pool. There is also internet access in the hotel. If enough people confirm their reservation, the rate will change to a group rate, and we will all benefit.

There will be time to visit the orphanage and spend some time with the children. We will also be arranging for at least one day to help out at the orphanage with any repairs or work that needs to be done. This will be a great time to help out at the orphanage and have a great vacation as well!

If you are interested in a side trip to Cusco and the Inca ruins at Machu Picchu, or in renting a car to explore on your own, please discuss the cost of adding this on with the travel agent, Steffanie. There will be a van at the hotel that can take everyone to the orphanage for a small fee. The shopping, beach and museums are within walking distance, or accessible by taxi.

The weather should be fairly nice in late January, with the high temperature around 80F. Hopefully, having the trip in late January will give everyone interested time to prepare for the trip. It will be a great time and really wonderful to connect with the children that are directly effected by Eternal Tree!

Time is of the essence in reserving these prices. Airfares change daily, so booking sooner than later is a good idea! Again, all reservations and payment will be handled by our travel agent, Steffanie Bolle. steff@uniglobetravel.com

We hope you'll join us on this adventure!!!
